Al maanden wordt er hard gewerkt op de locatie Vopak te Vlaardingen. Hier komt namelijk een nieuw tankpark van maar liefst 52 nieuwe opslagtanks. Dat betekende veel voorbereiding, engineering & design, grondwerkzaamheden, het bouwen van nieuwe fundaties en natuurlijk het fabriceren van tanks en leidingmodules. Wagenborg Nedlift is bij dit project verantwoordelijk voor het transport en plaatsen van de nieuwe tanks. Vorige week was het dan zover en arriveerden de eerste tanks voor de kade van Vopak. Per watertransport met een binnenschip van maar liefst 135 meter lang werd deze eerste verscheping vanaf de productielocatie in Willebroek in België uitgevoerd. Op de kade stond een 500 tons rupskraan van Wagenborg Nedlift gereed om de ruim 112 ton zware en 28 meter hoge ‘ beschuitbussen’ uit het schip te lossen op de gereedstaande SPMTs. Via een speciaal geconstrueerde rijbaan ging het transport voorzichtig richting het nieuwe tankpark, alwaar de 750 tons rupskraan de lading van de SPMTs pakte en nauwkeurig op de nieuwe fundatie positioneerde. De komende weken vertoont Wagenborg Nedlift zo’n 26 keer dit ‘kunstje’, later dit voorjaar worden de resterende tanks geplaatst.
First storage tanks put onto foundation at Vopak Vlaardingen storage terminal
During the past months, a lot of work has been done at Vopak Vlaardingen tank storage terminal. A huge new tank storage park of no less than 52 tanks will be constructed there. This meant a lot of project preparation, engineering & design, civil works, construction of new foundation and of course fabrication of the new storage tanks and piping modules. At the Vopak Vlaardingen project, Wagenborg Nedlift is responsible for the transport and positioning of the new storage tanks. Last week, the first tanks arrived at the quayside of Vopak. This first shipment from the fabrication shop in Willebroek, Belgium was organized per water transport with an inland water vessel of no less than 135 meters long. At the Vlaardingen quayside, Wagenborg Nedlift’s 500 tons crawler crane was positioned to offload the 112 tons heavy ‘rusk tins’ from the ship onto SPMT trailers. Via a specially constructed temporary road, the transport took off to the new tank park, where a 750 tons crawler crane lifted the precious cargo from the trailer and carefully positioned the tank onto its new foundation. During the next coming weeks, Wagenborg Nedlift will show this ‘piece’ 26 times. In Spring, the remaining units will be installed.
